Our three-year visual arts curriculum for middle school graders explores visual art practices and visual culture through hands-on activities and explorations. The curriculum opens up a world of popular arts, folk arts, various exhibitionary art practices as well as other forms and mediums for a student. Encouraging research, ideas about community knowledge, history, nature, fantasy and science are explored on a deeper level with students. Through creative activities and dialogue students are encouraged to observe, examine, and learn artistic styles, understanding of mediums, critical appreciation of art, and engage closely with the society around them.
The AEP for Middle school is supported by a three-part Visual Experience Series. Encouraging and enabling students to analyse, synthesise and interpret the world through various concepts of art and design, visual and non-visual tools of learning, this series helps them develop critical thinking skills. They also open up various effective methods of learning visual arts.
